Gennese Hawks Staff Writer – I was at the Salt Lake Community College not too long ago, I was just walking the campus for no reason really when I say on the Science building a picture that said Look straight up. That’s your limit. It got me thinking of the limits I put on myself and when they are removed how freeing it is.
Everyone has the potential to do anything they want. It doesn’t matter if it’s becoming world famous, or becoming CEO of a company, or writing a song or a book, or spending all their extra time volunteering, everyone has the capability of becoming anything they want. But it does not come without a cost. You have to work for it, you can’t just expect to get what you want by doing nothing.
Any good writer has worked for a long time to get their works to the point of publication. Any good singer has worked with voice coach and put in many hours of practice. Any good martial artist takes the time to practice and works hard so they can medal in competitions. Anything worth doing is worth doing well.
I took this picture because I don’t think enough people know that it’s not just the sky is the limit, but the universe is the limit. There is no glass ceiling that can’t be broken by anyone willing to try. There is not challenge to can’t be over come. There is not job that you can’t qualify with the proper experience and training and your own determination. No one can hold you back expect your self. It is me who determines whether I can do a job or not, whether I happy or not, whether I can change as my environment changes, whether I can support those that receive honors where I think that I should get it and not be upset or let it get me down and remember when I succeed that other people have worked just as hard or even harder, and to be a good sport about it either way.
So my question is you today is; what is it that you want more then anything else, and what is hold you back from reaching it?
