Douglas Thorup & Elaine Smith Thorup are celebrating their 50th Wedding Anniversary! This is a great milestone! They were married Jan. 22, 1962. They were high school sweethearts at Granger High School, and have been inseparable ever since!
They are lifelong members of the West Valley City Community with Elaine spending her early childhood years in Panguitch, Utah. They have resided on Thorup Circle in West Valley for 44 years.
Doug helped build Thorup Circle, when he was a partner in Thorup Bros.Construction Co. before retiring. They have enjoyed their custom built home and swimming pool there.
Doug loves to hunt and fish. He is happiest with a fishing pole in his hand. He is a avid gardener, raising melons and vegetables for his family and friends.
Elaine is an expert quilter, making intricate pieced quilts for her family members. She also raises poodles and has won many compitetions with her dogs.
They have both been very active in the LDS Church, serving in many leadership positions. They love life and their large family. They have seen many changes to their hometown of Granger in the last 50 years!
